Harry Potter & The Goblet of Fire (Audio Book) UNABRIDGED 20 Hours, 12 Cassettes
Customer Reviews — [1] Rating: 4 Date: 2010-01-26 Summary: Great ... I received this item very quickly, and seeing as I'm with my husband in South Korea, that is a HUGE compliment. I've read all the books before and was very happy to get the chance to complete my own set. My only complaint would be that the pages looked slightly water damaged. They had a small sort of wavy look to them. To me thats not something to get mad about because a book is going to get worn anyways, but I know to some that may seem important to them. Overall I was very happy with my experience with Amazon and ...more
[2] Rating: 5 Date: 2010-01-06 Summary: The turning point in the series ... Everyone (children and adults) loves a great "good vs. evil" story. I often think that something that everyone raves about just can't be as good as the say, but Harry Potter exceeds the reviews. The incredibly rich detail in all the Harry Potter novels is really the best aspect of the story. JKR creates a whole world that readers can't forget about. There many subplots, but JKR keeps them all straight. I can't tell you how great all the books in this series are, you'll have to read them for yourself. Harry Potter is ...more
[3] Rating: 4 Date: 2009-12-20 Summary: The transition book. ... The plot here is the weakest of the entire series. The baseline "life at Hogwarts" stuff is still fun, but the rest is a bit forced. As the central book of the series, though, it can almost be taken as a metaphor for the series itself: The 3 tasks of the Triwizard tournament are effectively a recapitulation of the first 3 books. However, in those books Dumbledore was the one pulling the strings and making sure everything worked out. Here Voldemort is doing the string-pulling, though we don't find that out until the ...more

[2] Rating: 5 Date: 2007-09-18 Summary: Cool item ... I got this item from a Borders book store near me. It's pretty cool. The crystal ball is solid glass and it comes with a neat little elephant stand to put the ball on. It's pretty small but it's still really neat. It also comes with Prisoner of Azkaban related stickers. ...more
[3] Rating: 4 Date: 2009-02-18 Summary: Nice Collectible ... I bought this for my husband who is an avid HP fan and it was a cute addition. THe crystal ball is heavier than I had expected, and while the stand is a little cheesy (and plastic) for the money it was a good buy! Fun little token for HP fans. ...more

Customer Reviews — [1] Rating: 5 Date: 2010-03-05 Summary: Classic And Unforgettable ... Thirteen years after the publication of the first book in the series (not to mention the follow-up of six sequels, plus the first six movie adaptations), any charges from the original critics that the Harry Potter series was going to be just a short-lived fad have long since been rendered obsolete. Harry Potter And The Philosopher's Stone (aka Harry Potter And The Sorceror's Stone) may have been the reading world's most valuable entry in years because it started to reverse the decades-long erosion in book-readers ...more
[2] Rating: 5 Date: 2010-02-25 Summary: Just close your eyes and meet Harry Potter! ... I had been looking for these CDs for a long time (here in Italy you can't find them). The book is awesome and really well written and I couldn't wait to hear it narrated by the great voice of Jim Dale. Simply beautiful, this Anniversary Edition Audio Book is suitable for every age. The box contains 7 CDs, divided in two sets, all with colorful illustrations. Buy it, do not hesitate, you won't regret! ...more
[3] Rating: 5 Date: 2010-02-22 Summary: Harry Potter - Enter the Magical Wizarding World! ... Harry Potter is an amazing fantasy series like no other. The first book, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone lets you enter this magical, exciting, funny and peculiar world - The wizarding world, that is! Harry Potter follows eleven year old Harry. His parents died in a car crash, leaving his horrible aunt and uncle to take care of them. Harry's aunt and uncle don't believe in magic, in fact they hate everyone who does, thinking its rubbish. So when strange and amazing things happen to Harry, they are even more enraged. ...more
Editorial Reviews — [1] ... Product Description | This is the braille version of the international bestseller. "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" has reached a level of best-sellerdom never before achieved by a children's novel in the United States--The New York Times, April 1, 1999. If you haven't heard about this book, you've been asleep. Written for 8 to 12-year olds, "Harry Potter" appeals equally to adults. Who is Harry Potter? Harry Potter is an old-fashioned hero. He learns that choices show more of who one is than abilities....more
[2] ... Review | With six two-page spreads featuring the key scenes from Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone , this Harry Potter pop-up book allows younger children to begin to experience the thrilling saga of Harry Potter's first year at Hogwarts. Every page literally pops out with creative 3-D engineering in full color, while pull-tabs allow readers to bring a Quidditch game to life or help Harry see his heart's desire in the Mirror of Erised. The cartoonish art is muddy and unspectacular, but fans and collectors...more

[2] Rating: 5 Date: 2010-02-20 Summary: Rowling Hits Her Stride, Making No. 3 Succeed for Both Young Readers and Adults ... In broad outline HARRY POTTER AND THE PRISONER OF AZKABAN follows the pattern of the previous two books: a magical adventure yarn about the young eponymous wizard told within the framework of another year at the English wizarding boarding school Hogwarts, the beginning and ending of the story in the company of Harry's insufferable muggle (regular people) relatives, the Dursleys. Book Number Three is, in the richness of its plot and its psychological depth, more intriguing than its predecessors. That it's not very nuanced ...more
[3] Rating: 5 Date: 2010-01-12 Summary: Simply outstanding! Plot, characters, imagination beyond compare!! ... My 9 year daughter asked me to read this, as she loved it.
